GRAFTING TIPS | ||
|
Through my experience I have learned from my failures. I am posting some common failures so you don't repeat them. 1. Start grafting too early before the bark peels. 2 Grafting when a cold front approaches. You achieve better success when it is warm and the tree is vigorously growing. Growth is a function of temperature an when it cools off growth slows. 3. Don't freeze scion wood. 4. Don't put a soaking wet towel with your scion wood. It will mold. Damp only. 5. Don't seal your scion wood in a vacuum sealed bag. The natural gasses released will cause it to swell up like a balloon 6. Don't repeated take wood from the refrigerator to graft, place it back in the refrigerator several times. the temperature changes damage the scion wood. Store in a cooler with ice while grafting. Reserve your scionwood now by emailing me at admin@pecanworld.com . Price is $2 per stick plus shipping. |
